Catawba Care Coalition

  Organizational Profile

Vision:  Catawba Care Coalition will be the respected and valued provider of comprehensive HIV/AIDS prevention and care.

Mission:  To promote optimal health for York, Chester and Lancaster County residents
by providing medical care and support services for people living with HIV/AIDS and
by educating the community to prevent the spread of HIV.

Organizational Values:

Background:  Catawba Care Coalition (CCC) was formed in 1994 to serve the HIV+ population of York, Chester and Lancaster Counties.  The agency was originally housed at the York County Health Department and operated under the United Way.  In 2000, CCC received status as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, expanded to include more case managers and an on-site medical clinic, and moved to its current Rock Hill facility. Since 2000, CCC has continued to expand and merge with other agencies to alleviate duplication of services and maximize limited resources.  This growth include a 2001 merger with the York County AIDS Task Force and a 2003 merger with the Catawba AIDS Prevention Network for consolidated prevention, outreach and education services.  In 2005, CCC also assumed the work formerly accomplished by Lancaster’s Community Health Outreach Coalition (CHOC) by establishing a Lancaster County site for HIV prevention and education. Today, CCC operates with a staff of 19 full-time and 5 part-time employees. CCC also contracts with an Infectious Diseases Specialist, who serves as the Medical Director and provides specialized HIV care.  The budget for Fiscal Year 2010 is $2,252,807. Catawba Care Coalition is a United Way funded agency.
